Reported practice

When it
goes wrong.

A workshop video shows you what a correct result looks like. It rarely shows you the coat that wrinkled, the ground that never hardened, or the repair that lifted a month later. This section is written from lacquer discussion threads, where people describe exactly that — and where somebody usually answers.

What this is

Testimony, not documentation.

Every record here comes from practitioners reporting their own experience. That makes it strong evidence about failure and recovery, and weaker evidence about canonical procedure. It is filed separately from the methods for that reason.

Attribution

Every claim links to its comment.

Nothing here is quoted. Each page is written from the thread and links back to the exact comment a claim rests on, so you can read it in context and judge it yourself. No commenter is named on this site.

Disagreement

Kept, not averaged.

Where two people contradict each other, both positions are recorded with their sources. A false consensus would be more comfortable to read and worth considerably less.
